The plastic mould manufacturing process is not really as simple as just melting plastic on the side of the mould and then pouring the end of it with hot plastic. It is in fact a complex process which involves the mixing, heating and cooling of plastics. It involves the following steps: the production of plastic; the conversion of polymers into plastic; the heating of plastic mixture; and the cooling of plastic mixture to form solid form. There are many techniques used to manufacture plastics from various polymers and the most common of them are known as thermoforming, liquid filling, and injection moulding.

During the production of plastic the polymer or resin is either completely melted or partially melted and it takes several days to complete the melting process. This plastic is then injected on the mould making sure that all the necessary mold parts are properly prepared. After this the plastic mixture is heated to its normal temperature and then cooled down again. After the plastic is fully cooled down, it can be removed from the mould and cooled down further to become solid form. At this point the process of cooling down is continued by removing the plastic from the mould again. These processes are done in multiple steps and the manufacturing process is not completed without completing all the steps.

The plastic that is produced from the above processes comes in various colors. The manufacturing process also makes use of various different kinds of plastics such as polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polystyrene, and polyacrylonitic polymers.
